Q: Do I need to create an account or connect to the internet to use AgePony?

A: No. AgePony works completely offline; the only optional network call happens when you manually look up a public key on GitHub, and even that is triggered only by you. There are no sign‑ups, analytics, ads, or remote servers involved.

Q: How does AgePony keep my master key safe on the device?

A: Your master age identity (the X25519 private key) is stored in the Android Keystore, which is protected by the device’s biometric authentication (fingerprint or face unlock) or your PIN/password. The keystore ensures that the key never leaves the secure hardware-backed storage.

Q: Can I encrypt any type of file with AgePony, and where do I store the encrypted output?

- Proxy for the GitHub key fetch: Off, Orbot (Tor), or a custom SOCKS5/HTTP proxy, in Settings > Network. Optional credentials give Tor stream isolation. Off by default.

- Encrypt to YubiKey (age-plugin-yubikey) recipients.

- Configurable auto-lock delay after leaving the app.

- Recently deleted: restore an accidental identity or recipient delete.

Fixes a lockout on vaults protected by a password or PIN. After setting one up, reopening it once the app had locked could fail with a decryption error. The vault key was being cleared from memory right after setup, so the first thing you saved was written under a blank key and could not be reopened. This is fixed, and covered by a test. Biometric vaults were not affected. A vault already hit by this cannot be opened by the new version and needs to be reset and set up again.
